Layout Design Bootcamp – Episode 4 – Product Advertisement

Welcome to episode 4 of Layout Design Bootcamp where my goal is to take you through entire design layouts to show you the exact process of how it’s done. In this fourth episode, I continued to implement the brand of “Dreamy Doughnuts” that I developed in Logo Design Bootcamp Episode number 4. I decided to design a product advertisement that you would find in a magazine or loose in a newspaper that shows coupons for limited time deals. This tutorial will teach you so many things including:

  • Sizing Your Layout
  • All aspects of the pen tool
  • Masking In Photoshop
  • Altering Image Colors
  • The Pathfinder Tools
  • Creating A Coupon Effect
  • Creating A QR Code
  • Brand Continuity
  • Superimposing
  • Creating Balance
  • and of course…..much more!

  1. Question. Why did you duplicate the word “deals”? I can’t figure out how that affects anything. Thanks! …for all you do.

    1. Suzanne, I duplicated it and added a white stroke to it and sent it to the back. This was to ensure that when I added the white stroke on the original word deals, that it did no eat away at the letters. Then when I added the drop shadow you were able to see the stroke appear.
